I have a small herd, three females, so I don't have too many litters over the course of a year. Lately though I have been getting a TON of people requesting a male and a female both from seperate litters. For breeding I imagine! I am not worried about competition or anything; I don't breed for profit at all, I just want my hoglets to go to good homes!
I just wanted to start a poll asking you hedgehog breeders out there what you sell your hoglets.
Also if any breeder have a good way to screen potential owners and want to share how I would appreciate it!
Not really sure if this qualifies as "debate".... :p

I have sold to another breeder, well traded actually, but he has been a breeder for quite a few years. Although the first time I met him was when we exchanged babies, he came highly recommended by a friend of mine who has been in the hedgehog world for years.
Would I sell to another breeder again. It would totally depend on the person, their ethics, knowledge and if I agreed with how the were breeding.
I'll email you and tell you how I screen potential families. :)

There are a large number of breeders I would sell to, and do sell to, and trade with, etc... There are also an even LARGER number of breeders both established and new I wouldn't sell to. It just all depends on the vibe I get from the person. I take it on a case by case basis...

I've moved your thread to the Hedgie Talk Section for now :)

it all depends on who I am selling the hedgie to and what their plans are with it and if I think that they are going to be able to take care of it like I think they should.
