confusion about certain foods

ive heard that dairy and milk is bad for hedgies but then i see people saying they feed there hedgies cottage cheese, also have heard that egg yolks are bad for hedgies but people are saying they feed there hedgies scrambled eggs

I'm assuming people feed cottage cheese to hedgies because, even though it is a dairy product, it is gentle on stomachs. That's why they suggest you feed it to animals that have digestive upsets. And the eggs- they might use them in small amounts, or they might just scramble the egg whites.

funny you asked this. Every Sunday I make pancakes and use a dozen egg whites and throw the yolk away. DH asks me why I don't feed them to prickles. I just thought of it as a mess and that it can't be terribly healthy for them. Though in one of my hedgie books it shows a hegie eating a yolk.
