Today my mom had to go put her, well our first bunny to sleep! He was 5 years old.. and been in and out of the vets a few times because his system kept shutting down. He's reduced himself down to almost skin and bones.. and wasn't taking to his new meds. He's been over lathargic and my mom had to make a choice. She decided it would be better for him instead of putting him threw more trauma.
The sad thing, is she woke me this morning to say goodbye. I was petting him, he could barely keep his eyes open. The sadder part is that I think his cagemate knew. She leaped off her shelf, almost bit me. Then she turned around right infront of him, stomped her feet then started kicking shavings in this face, almost like covering him totally. Like her own little funeral for him, almost like buringing him! I couldn't not cry.
My first baby is gone. :(
