Since I recently got reemed for having an opinion on this over at BHB, how does everyone else feel about Animal Communicators?
I personally think they're frauds. If you're paying for it for entertainment purposes that's fine, but you're going to one in the hopes of getting actual information that's another story.
There are people out there that have a connection with animals, that understand them more deeply then the average person. But even those people can not tell you what your pet is thinking in a physic sense.

I agree totally. All those "animal communicators" only want your money and sadly a lot of people believe in them.

Perhaps it's not the people who can communicate but the animals.

I don't think they are all frauds. I believe that some people do have a special link with the animals. I don't believe the ones that do it from a distance or over the phone but those that are actually with the animal then yeah, I think some could honestly get feelings.
Those that do it as a business and charge for it, no, I don't believe them. I firmly feel any feelings one gets from the animal are totally random and cannot be turned off and on at a set time and place.

I am empathic with dogs in particular and I do get strong feelings from them with regard as to how they feel, why they are behaving the way they are etc. To me it is a gift though, not to be 'sold' as a service, as it is too precious and special. Whether people believe I can tune in like this or not is quite irrelevant to me. I know what I 'feel' and as long as it helps me to understand the animal more, I do not have a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is the amount of charlatans jumping on the bandwagon and making 'animal communication' into a business. All they are doing most of the time anyway is simply translating what they know to be the cause of the animals behaviour and putting it across to the owners as though the animal is telling them. But if people want to pay for this type of service, often about double what they would pay, just to get the same results, well good luck to them. As long as the advice given is correct, no matter whether it is given from the consultants point of view or the dogs ( ) then it is entirely up to the owner at the end of the day.
Well, I personally think almost all of these people are frauds, but I have a personal experience with a friend who was "psycic". She could describe one of my friend's deceased dad's, who she had never met before, perfectly well. It was all very weird.

Well let me ask you this:
What about animal communicators that 'speak' to pets from beyond the grave?

Personally, I don't believe in animal comminucators. If anything, we're all able to do that to some extent. We know our animals, and we have an idea when they're not being themselves. While we may not know the exact cause of what ails them, we might have a general idea.
I'd never give another person money to "speak" to my animal. If they do have a gift, they shouldn't be exploiting it for payment. When I used to work with the horses, the barn owner used to put me in a pen with a horse that wasn't working well. While it wouldn't "talk" to me, it would quickly learn to trust me. We communicated that way - through trust. I think that's the only way humans can communicate with an animal.

I have to agree with Katie on this one. I think that people will believe what they want to hear. WE put our human emotions into how other living things feel or how we want them to feel in certain situations. It's also pretty obvious to read if animal is lethargic, acting 'normal', things like tail wagging and purring are constant indicators of how your pets feel. I honestly believe that I know my animals feelings and 'emotions' better then anyone else on the planet because I live with them day in and day out. But for someone to come up to me and tell me "your dog just told me she dislikes it when you do this or that..." I don't believe that for one second.
Also I'm sorry you got reemed for you opinions on BHB Katie, there are at least a few people here that have already had similar thoughts on the subject.

I seem to be in a pretty opinionated mood right so please forgive if I let it show in tis post also. Normally I'm in the chin side of the board but I couldn't resist this topic it's one of my biggest pet peeves right now. these animal communicators are great if you have absolutly no clue about animal behavior because then you can honestly think that they are talking to an animal. but in reality all they are doing is looking at how an animal behaves and using their knowledge of behaviors to interpret what blanket statements they can tell the owner to make them happy. I saw something on tv a while ago someone woman lost her dog and went to an animal psychic who told her the dog was hiding in a dark place with trees near where she became lost and also said that there was someone she was hiding from but if she heard her owner she would try very hard to get to her.
needless to say this woman thought that what she was told was coming from the dog and went to the park where the dog got lost and started yelling her name out walking back and forth on the line of trees and sure enough the dog came running *gasp* of course anyone who knows dog behavior if a dog becaomes sperated from the owner it's bonded from one of two things will happen the dog will sniff out their owner to all lengths or will hide until someone familiar or who they see as friendly finds them and coaxes them out. obviously sinc ethe dog hadn't come home in 2 days from a route it walked everyday for about 2 years the first wasn't happening which leaves what for the psychic to draw on? pup must be hiding. I think any owner with a little attention to their pets body language will know exactly what is needed (ok well not exactly but tell me when you feed your pet by how they react to diffferent food you may have tried that you couldn't see what they prefered, or by how they move their body against your hand where their fav scratchy spot is whre their fav spot to sleep is what hours they want to be left alone....) I think many of the people who go to animal communicators or psychics really need to talk to someone who works with animals for training or in a vet office to start to understand their animals behavior themselves. Notice the communicators and psychics on tv never show the entire process from the recieved letter to the first interview to the final animal communication because much of the info they are giving out as revelations have usually been already discussed or easily interpreted by the owner. we as people are almost too willing to believe people who claim to have abilities beyond what we deem as "normal" that we start to ignore when they say something wrong or ask us the questions that once we answer they restate our own answers and claim it as given to them by the supernatural
