Hi all,
In case any of you don't know me from the "Hedgie Talk" area, I recently got my first hedgie, named Ci Wei. He's such a sweetheart, and very beautiful so far as his coloring goes, and I've considered taking him to visit nursing homes, etc. because of his sweet temperament. Awhile back I ran across an article about showing hedgheogs at IHA shows across the country. My question is this: have any of you done this, and if so, what was your experience like? I went to the IHA website and Ci Wei seems to fit their description of a healthy and well-tempered hedgie, so I think he might have a chance at winning if he were entered. My problem is that I'm not sure what specific color he is, though I'm sure the judge at the door could tell me. Does anyone know when and where the next hedgie show is set to be located? The IHA site didn't list any upcoming shows, but aren't there annual ones or something? Also, is it expensive to enter a hedgie in the show? Should I just go and see one first, before entering Ci Wei, or is it pretty laid back and easy for a newbie to get into the groove of things? I used to go to a local annual dog show here in Iowa (as a spectator only), but that's about as far as my knowledge of shows goes. Any info or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :winkgrin:
