Okay, so I've heard from some people, that hedgehog food (cat food, not actual hedgehog food) is better in a mix, but I've also heard that it is okay to feed a one-type of food only diet... I kind of feed a mix, but I opt more for feeding a single good quality food (Premium Edge, mostly). When I do feed a mix, its a mix of Premium Edge and Purina One... Which route is best to go?? I'm confused...

I prefer a mix of food simply because they are unsure exactly what a hedgehog requires in their diet. Feeding a mix gives more chance of meeting all those requirements than if just one food is fed. I use a mix of 2 consistent foods... Chicken soup cat lite & Royal Canin lite 37. To this I add different ones. Most of the time I give a little bit of Purinina One Healthy weight management. I'm not thrilled with it as a food but it is my emergency one as it is available everywhere. Very often I add First Mate Premium or Solid Gold. :)

Chicken Soup Light, Royal Canin Slim 37 and Wellness Light are my staple hedgehog foods. I will rotate in Eagle Pack Holistic, Felidae, Innova Light, Innova Evo and Solid Gold when I can get a good price on it. This way, there are always very familiar foods in my mix that are readily available to me in my area
My two "fluffy" hogs only get the staple mix because the fat ratio is much lower

Yeah, I know i can get Chicken Soup and Purina One in my area, not sure if i can get anything else much better, so yeah, I'm kinda limited on what i can make a mix out of, I'm thinking about switching to Maxximum Indoor cat formula since its readily available at Wal-Mart and the ingredients are slightly better than those of Purina One.
