How much do I have to clean its cage? Is once a week good? And how many times should I feed a hedgehog a day? :hmmmm:

Cleaning should be done as needed. One of my boys can get away with having his liners changed once a week, and his litter box/wheel done twice a week. Another needs his liners done at least 2 times a week, litter box twice a week, and wheel once a week. The third needs his wheel done at least 3 times a week, his litter box once a week (he never uses it) and his liner 2-3 times a week. It all depends on the hog. As a rule though I would say once to twice a week minimum.
Hedgies should be free fed meaning they always have kibble available to them. I give my boys fresh food and water before I go to sleep. In the morning I make sure there is some food left over for them to eat during the day if they get up for a snack. I also make sure they have water.

I agree with Laura - it's more on an "as needed" basis. I have liners in Razzle's cage and I have to change them 1-2x a week. His wheel, however, has to be washed every day. I pick up obvious poos whenever I see them, but it's their urine that can get stinky pretty quick!
I leave dry kibble & water out all the time (change it every night). Sometimes they do come out during the day and grab a quick snack.

I change liners every other night and completely scrub down the cage once a week with a vinegar and water solution. Wheels are scrubbed daily for the most part. The longest I go is every other night

we remove poopie and peepee shavings daily, sometimes twice...cage gets fully cleaned once a week...water is changed constantly, especially Lily because she seems to like lots of shavings in her water...and we feed "freely" as they never gorge, and gets lots of exercise...food is filled as needed, any food that is "old" is dumped... :hearts:

I feed the hedgehogs nightly. Cleaning is done on as as-needed basis. Spot cleaning in addition to weekly cage cleaning is generally adequate.
