Hamorhollow is a contributing member here. If you scroll down in this section alone you will see lots of responses from this member.
I would personally buy from her as I always like the responses she gives. She seems very knowledgable in her care for hedgies.
13 weeks is not to old in my opinion.
Hope this helps. :)

I have two of Kelly's girls, Glasspack and Mercy. Both about 8 months old. Healthy with exactly the personalities I was told they have. I got them as adults. Glasspack is a wee shy girl and Mercy is much more outgoing and about 100 grams bigger. She also likes to hog the blankets.

At 13 weeks they are quilling and once they have finished quilling, they will begin showing their adult colors and adult personalities.

You're always going to find one or two disgruntled customers but I have found her to be honest and caring in her dealings with me.

13 weeks isn't too old. That's just older than 3 months. I got my hedgie when she was about 12 weeks old, and she was just a joy. At that age, they still bond more quickly to their owners, I find.

Sometimes breeders have hoglets that are over 3 months for sale, usually you won't find much over 6 months. I personally don't like selling hoglets until they are 2 months which makes a window to sell before they are 3 months rather small. I just feel that monitoring them for 2 weeks after weaning is in the best interest in the health of the hoglets. Hedgehogs are sold at all ages and it shouldn't be anything to worry about. Kelly is an experienced breeder.

I should hope 13 weeks isn't too old, because I just bought mine and she's 7 months! So far we're getting along great. :)

*blush* Thank you everyone!

Fertility is low during the winter months, so I bred heavy in late fall so I would have babies available. The demand for hedgehogs is higher during the winter months, and lower in the summer, which is exactly opposite of the highest fertility times. I put some new pairs together this week, so 3 months from now I will hopefully have new babies.

People like to get their babies very young, but there is a big advantage to getting a slightly older hedgehog. With a slightly older hedgehog, you miss out on some or all of the quilling period when the hedgehog can be a bit moody and less social. Slightly older hedgehogs are great for first time owners and anyone with younger children.

Nancy - I am glad the girls are doing well. I am not surprised that Mercy is a blanket hog.

I wouldnt say that 13 weeks is too old. We got Kazz when he was 8-9 months old, we got Lily when she was about 11 months old. Both were grumpy hogs (lily is still a bit) but Kazz is completely friendly and cuddly now! he rarely ever huffs up...but we got him back in november. Lily we got about a month and a bit ago I believe, but she is making progress :) all hedgies need is some love and attention~! :hearts:
