I had a very good day with Snowball. She sat on my lap for like an hour while I did stuff for her cage (cleaning, moving things, etc...). Then I woke her up to go to the bathroom and get a foot bath (which she needed really badly). And after she was in the best mood she could be while I was clipping her nails! :D Yippie! She nipped the clipper a few times, but other than that all I got was a little huffyness. I got them all clipped! She of coarse got a mealie! She was even in a good mood for playing afterwards (which she normaly isn't after clipping). I was very pleased with my wonderful little girl today! :hedge3:

How was it with your hedgie today?

That's wonderful about Snowball. It seems she's really warming up to you, and bonding. I notice that Hemi nips the nail clippers a couple times too. I always get worried she'll chip a tooth. Is it weird I'd rather her bite my finger than metal nail clippers? LOL.

Hemi had her vet appointment today, which she was a good girl for. No hissing, biting or balling up...not even when the vet poked at the infection around her vulva. After the appointment, she got a treat, and then went to bed while I was in school. She was a bit jumpy tonight, but mostly because of her vet appointment this morning. She'll be calmer tomorrow.

That's not weird at all. Snowball was very jumpy yesterday. My nose was running from being sick and she would curl in a ball every time I sniffled. You're right about her warming up to me! She is much calmer around me now, though she doesn't like to be held at all. She tries to get down by going backwards in my hands, which is makes it very hard when trying to clip her nails. So I put her in a towel and lay her on her back. It makes it much easier to clip them (for me at least).

Was everything ok with Hemi when she went to the vet?

Snowball sounds like the sweetest little girl!!! That's so cute when they try to nip at the nail clippers! :hearts: I can't believe she let you cut all her nails. Wow!! I usually can only get a few done at one sitting. She really deserved that mealie!

It seems that once in while when I'm clipping them she realizes, "I better just stay still so she can finish." hehehe.... It's weird she'll just lay on her back and not move the foot I'm trying to clip. But if she's having a bad day I can't get anywhere near her feet!

Forgot to add: I can't get any bath pics yet, as no one knows how to use my camera

Hemi likes to flip backwards too...and flail her little legs all over the place. My mom thinks it's absolutely adorable.

And yes, Hemi's vet appointment went well. Hemi was an angel and didn't ball up, hiss or bite...even when the vet started poking around her vulva. Turns out Hemi has a minor infection on her vulva due to trapped moisture when she balls up, and a cold that the vet thinks is due to depression from the infection. Although, she did check her lungs and heart and everything checks out fine. I have to give Hemi baytril twice a day for two weeks, which will take care of both the infection and the cold.
