Well I just noticed recently, and I'm not targeting newbies specifically but those are the threads I remember them in, a lot of swearing or rather cussing. Why??? Maybe new people aren't reading the rules posted; at least I think it is a rule not to use swear words? :dunno:

And it's not that the people using these words are angry either, they are just saying "oh that would make me pis*ed off" or "fuc* I can't get over that"

Now I don't know it doesn't offend me unless you were directly using it to tell someone off but is it necessary? They are just added for more of a statement it seems so why not leave them out, if you want to dramatize or emphasize use !!! or something else maybe?

There are quite a few people on here and wouldn't it be more respectful to just post without those words? Just my two cents and everyone might not agree but it is a great forum for many reasons, and I think we should try to keep it clean.

From the FAQ:

2. Any post which is considered inflammatory, derogatory, inappropriate, prejudiced, or mean may be removed and a warning sent to the offender. Continued acts of this type may result in removal of your account.

All you have to do if you find something offensive is to click the ! at the top right hand side of a post and a report will go to the mods/admins for review. Posts found to be offensive are edited or removed.

There are over half a MILLION posts on CnQ and staff can't read each and every post every day. They appreciate the extra eyes of members finding things they don't see.

Oh no I wouldn't expect them to find all the posts. I was just wondering if a person was just swearing in their speech but at no one in particular would that be considered something for removal?

Ahhhhh, the little "!" button :)

I never thought I'd use it to report a post (oh, I'd never make trouble for anyone, who am I to judge someone else's post, you know, all that), BUT!

Last year some newbie had started a thread wishing a very happy birthday to "Hitler, the greatest dictator EVER!" and another little newb responded with "yah, hahahaha, Hitler ROCKS!"

I nearly broke a finger clicking that "!" button!!! It really works too, the thread was gone within 10 minutes.

Go super mods go! :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

Wow I hadn't noticed this but I haven't been as active on the boards as I usually am, but that's just b/c the drama not the cussing lol!

I notice it too, and sometimes I slip up, but I try to use "flippin" insted of fu**in and such like that. You get the point across, but you don't have to use the words. Even in real life, I dont curse that often, and I try to "substitute." Sometimes you want to get your point across " I"M SO FLIPPIN ANGRY AT YOU" insted of "IM SO ANGRY AT YOU" It does help the point get across, but the actual vulgar word it'sself isn't necessary. :) it doesn't offend me, I just dont really liek to see it.

Please don't be afraid to use that warn button. There is no way that we can read through every post and thread :)

What happens exactly when you click the "!" button? Does it send a message to you guys or what?

It puts a message into the mods and admins email, then it's kind of a first come, first serve thing. One of us reads it and checks out the thread to determine what needs done.
