I was wondering if hedgies take well to other pets :dunno: , under supervision of course. I've seen tons of pics with dogs but was wondering if he would be nervous around say a bearded dragon? The beardie likes my dog who came over to visit and let her lick her face and such and she's pretty laid back so no problem there. But how do you think hedgie would react? It's just our beardie gets out on the floor for playtime so was wondering if they could come out together sometimes? I wouldn't do this right away since hedgie will be adjusting but later...

Hmmm........donno, I've never seen a hedgehog interact with a reptile. I wouldn't recommend it. My concerns would be:
Beardies can potentially carry salmonella. Hedgehogs can get salmonella. Testing cultures will run you about $85 plus any Dr. fees. The meds are fairly cheep (under $20) and you would have to give them 2X daily for 2 weeks.
Hedgehogs are natural predators of snakes, so I don't know if interacting with another reptile would be good.
Just my thoughts, maybe someone else can chime in.

Oh Thanks! I didn't even think of the salmonella possibility. I was just curious but seeing how nervous he is I would never even consider it now, lucky if he stops hissing at me. ;) Thank though.

Also, wash your hands after handling you iguana, because you can transmit Salmonella.
About the hissing, go to http://www.hedgehogworld.com/ and read the articles "My Hedgehog Hates Me!" and "Socializing the Grumpy Hedgehog".

Oh ya, and Tails, you should send that violet chin to live with me! I think she's the reason your hedgehog is huffing at you. I'll make her happy and spoil her, I swear! :hearts:
Ok, just kidding. Stardust is an adorable girl! I will just continue to lust after her from afar. ;)

I'm telling you, you're going to be in big trouble when Stardust has her kits next year. You are going to want a chin for sure! Ok yes I'm trying to rope you in but really look at me: now I have chins and a hedgie. Really they are both too cute to be on the same site and not expect people to be drawn in by both.
P.S.- thanks for the advice!

Oh No! You are only 6.5 hours from me, I really could be in trouble. Of course, I would have to find a way to smuggle a baby across the boarder..........
I'll just have to settle for lots and lots of baby pics!
