WooHoo! New babies comin'!

I just checked in on our little couple this morning and notices that our female, Hotaru, had blood on the quills over her hind end, so we're sure she's been bred! Yay! I can't wait to see the new babies!

BTW, doesn't the word "Hotaru" mean a firefly in Japanese? Unusual name for a hedgie, isn't it? Any particular reason?

Lol. Yes, Hotaru does mean firefly in Japanese. I don't like to name animals common names, I like to stay original. I also named her this way because she's gray with a little pinto spot right on her butt, kinda like a firefly. :winkgrin:

I think her name is very original. I like fireflies too :) Congrats Hotaru! I hope the pregnancy goes well and I can't wait to see pics of the babies!
