Scoops is giving me a run for my money trying to decide what to feed him. He is EXTREMELY picky. Pringle ate everything I put in front of him (except mealworms!). So far all that Scoops likes is:
1. mealworms
2. hamburger
3. Vegetable Beef Baby Food
4. Chicken and Vegetable Baby Food
5. Oatmeal w/Bananas and Applesauce Baby Food
6. CSFTCLS

Foods that were tried but no go's:
1. egg- mainly scrambled, I should try hard boiled again
2. cottage cheese- his stomach can't handle it
3. pears
4. regular veggies

Any suggestions?? I know it can't be too healthy to keep feeding him baby food, but he likes it. He eats a lot of the CSFTCLS so I know his teeth are able to crunch and get strong. He sometimes eats chicken too, SOMETIMES!

Oh, and lately I have been dealing with some green poop and it is probably being caused by the baby food. Lately there is a little green poop on his liner, but the formed ones are brown. Don't quite know what it is from.

A kibble mixture should be available at ALL times- and make up the MAIN part of his diet. Two plus types of food in a mix are recommended for a couple of reasons- mainly to help give them a more well rounded diet. What one food is lacking, the others will help make up in. Also, if youre unable to find a food when you run out, you wont have to switch them over to a new one cold turkey since you will have a couple other foods that will still be available.

So basically, kibbles should be in the cage all the time, day and night. Treats/extras can be offered. Some hedgies will go for anything, others will be really picky, and some wont eat anything but their kibble. Dont forget that sometimes new treats have to be offered a couple of times before your hedgie will try them and find he he/she loves them!

Thanks! Yes, I do always have CSFTCLS in his cage, day and night 24-7. I was just worried that I would be missing something in his diet if he didn't eat anything else. Like I said, he does like a few things, but not as many as Pringle did. I am sure I am overreacting and his diet is fine, but I was just curious.
