Just wanted to do some more sharing. So I have this amazing cage that my dad helped me to make, and by help I mean I said I wanted an amazing cage and he made it. He turned an old dresser into a 4 level cage that has about 8 sqft of room in total. Originally I had the mom living upstairs and baby downstairs but I wondered if they would like to have the levels open so that they could have access to all levels if they want or they can stay on the two floors. my cage has two of everything but the mom and baby have been inseperable. they have been living together now for about 7 months(ever since she was born). This baby is the one that I had to help hand feed because she wasn;t getting enough food. Anyway even though there is two of everything I always find them cuddled up in either bed. I know hedgehogs are solitary and I was going to close off the levels but they actually seem to enjoy each others company its biazzare.
Just wanted to note that I am by no means advocating people purchasing hedgies and cramming them in cages together I think my babies are a rare case but I wanted to share and wondered if anyone else has had a similar case where two hedies seemed to enjoy each others company
anyway.....
if your are still reading ...WOW!
cheers

I have females that are room mates :) infact my females rather enjoy each other. I match up roomies by siblings, mom/babies, or if they appear to play well together. I make notes of who gets along with who and bunk them up. I find my jumpy hedgehogs to be more relaxed with a room mate and they are always snuggled up in the igloo together. :) so yes in some cases females can live together. HOWEVER I do have a female and had one other in the past that REFUSED to get along with any of my other females. so please please please don't buy two females and just shove them in a chage.
