I just wanted to share my concerns/anger to my fellow CnQ's! I found this listing on Hoobly.com! I dont know about others of you, but this makes me sad and angry! Why do people try to always convince others how you can make soooo much $ breeding Chins???? Its really not a true statement and it creates more irrresponsible Chin breeders! How do others feel about this posting below?

"Partner Needed in Chinchillas Bus.!! Good Money!!

I am a wholesaler of chinchillas and need partner/s to help my
business. You can do this with or without ever seeing the chinchillas.
You can make up to $10 per chin without seeing or selling them or you
can make $10-$150 OR MORE per chin if you take the chins into your
home for resale! Anyone who is interested please email me ASAP. I do
have 2 other partners right now so i dont know how many more i will
need. Thanks"

Well, it is true you can make a profit off of chinchillas if your numbers are large. Most say about 100+ and you start making a tiny profit, and that's with fantastic animals. After about 300-500, you start making a decent amount. But you are right, just having a few chins isn't going to make you money.

But, I have no comment on that add as I really don't know the situation.

That is ridiculous! I'm pretty angered by that statement... because people like that are only in it for the money they could really care less about the animals themselves!

Id bet that there arent even any chins. The guy wants you to send him start up money for the buisiness with the promise that you will get $$$ when he sells chins. You send him money and never hear from him again.

If this the scam I am thinking of, then there are no chins. What you get is information on how to place ads like he does and then in turn you send the same type of information off to people who come to you. and so on and so on.

Oh Boy! I was not aware it was a scam, Hoobly has some really nice people selling animals and some really terrible ones, it seems there is no in between, people are so $ hungry these days with pets!

i saw an ad on hoobly with a guy offering a stud service (for 100 dollars) with his male chinchilla. If that's not a person uneducated about chinchilla's, I don't know what is.

True breeders don't breed animals for profit they do it to improve the species and for the love of the type of animal they are breeding. I don't think I liked that ad up there and I'm not even a breeder.
