Hi all,
Well, today was Ci Wei's first bath. Poor guy... :O But ya know, he did fine, other than doing everything he could to escape, that is. ;) There wasn't much water in the sink at the time, and I pretty much just wet the toothbrush and combed it through his quills and underbelly, and then grabbed one foot at a time (which he barely noticed in his search for an escape) and cleaned it as well. The funny thing was, every time he'd see my hand he'd climb on it and then try to climb my arm, as if it were a ramp out of the sink. He couldn't figure out why I kept placing him back in the water! Poor little guy... However, I'm sure he will now smell much better, though right now it just kinda smells wet in the air, though that could be my shirt, lol. He's all wrapped up in a blankie and resting on my lap as he dries. The biggest thing I'm concerned about is how upset he might be after all of this, as every time my hands go near him, he huffs like a steam engine and doesn't quit until at least 8-10 seconds after I take my hands away again. Hmm... maybe a mealworm will work as a temporary peace treaty. ;) I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for the postings on bathing a hedgie, as well as cleaning their cage (I did that too). They were extremely helpful, and my nose thanks you too! :) Thanks guys, and I'll post more later.

P.S. I wanted to get pics of him in the sink, but forgot to bring my camera over before the bath, and didn't want to leave him to walk across the room to get it. He'd have probably been fine, but I know all too well how quickly those little legs can go when he's on level ground! Better safe than sorry, right?
