Hi all,

While I didn't get any pics of Ci Wei during his bath, I did snap a few after I put him back in his cage (I held him for a few hours first, including during my last post about his bathtime). What did he do once back in his cage? Try to escape, of course! Here's the story from Ci Wei's point of view:

"Hmmm... do you suppose there's a way out up there?"

"I dunno, but I've got to try..."

*Deep breath in*

"Here I go!"

Needless to say, I tried to catch him the first few times, as he worked his way clear up to the top of the cage and was trying to force his way through the top bars (which is impossible, but he doesn't know that). I think it does help a little to place something on top of the cage so he feels a solid surface when sticking his nose through the bars, but oh well... I gotta get me some o' that coroplast or somethin'. :dunno:

Thanks guys, and I hope you enjoyed the pics.

What a little stinker! Likes to drive his momma crazy. LOL Have you tried any toys or anything with him? I hope he gets out of this phase soon...I'd be going crazy! Very cute pics...You look so nice and clean Ci Wei!

Thanks, from Ci Wei to you. As for the toys, I usually put a tp tube in his cage, and he does seem to play with it each night. I tried putting a matchbox car in there, but he hasn't quite figured it out yet, so he pretty much ignores it unless I'm there to push it for him and let it roll, thereby catching his interest. I may try buying some of those cat balls with bells and seeing if he goes for them. I also put extra paper towels in each night, but usually he ignores them as well with the exception of using them to burrow under or lay on. Any other ideas regarding toys for Ci Wei? Thanks again, and I'll write more later.

haha, what a cute little guy! The climbing would have me nearly panicking too. Hemi started trying to climb her cage last night... I found that blowing at her face when she just started to pull herself up and before she actually started to climb really helped. She tried about 4 times, and gave up. lol.

That's awesome! how old is ci wei? monty hasn't discovered the climbing yet...i can leave the door to his cage open, and he doesn't have any motivation/knowledge that he can actually get out if he wanted...

Thanks! Ci Wei is just over 3 months, and discovered the high art (no pun intended) of cage climbing within a week of being brought home. I always double check to be sure the cage door is closed, as, for example, just after I snapped the above pics, when I opened the door with him halfway up the side of his cage, he started working his way across the bars and nearly got out the cage opening! I couldn't believe it! I was right there, of course, and would have caught him had he actually gotten out or fallen, but still... what a climber! Still, ya gotta love the guy... he's active, but can also be a bit of a cuddler at times, and I love him to pieces. :hearts: Anyway, thanks to all of you for the comments thus far. I'll keep you posted on Ci Wei's future antics as well...

god, wolfgang was up and over the walls of his pen before we had him home for even an HOUR. he didnt waste any time at all! hahaha
after we fully climb-proofed it, it took him a couple days to figure out he couldn't get up the walls anymore and he would spend the whole night scrabbling his little nails against the walls. that was not fun.
eventually he gave up though. :)
