Be patient. The spring baby season is just starting now: moms are giving birth to their babies. In May or June, they'll begin to get weaned and be all ove--more for you to choose from! :)

Besides, when getting an exotic like a hedgie, it's best to spend this time scouting out a good vet, researching, and 'nesting' ;) (finding your hedgie the best home, accessories, etc.), and even simply saving up (best to have a $1000+ savings for emergency vet visits) is good. :)

I actually will be in Kansas City MO May 5th and 6th for the pet expo. I don't know of that is anywhere near you or not. I have two females currently ( a snowflake and a cinnicot). If you think you could get to the expo I can put one on hold for you :)

Tig from Hedgehog Valley is in Kansas. She is in Iola, KS which is about 1 hr from Kansas City I think. I don't know if she will have any babies right now though. www.hedgehogvalley.com I totally agree with the be patient thing. I researched for several months before I got my hedgie. I am just curious why do you want a female? Do you breed?

Tig doesn't have any available right now (according to the website) and Daisy meadows only has a male hoglet ready.

I live in Overland park, probably a few minutes from you! I have an awesome vet in Olathe if you want one.

Petstop has one baby right now and I know that they are really good with their hedgies. They hold them or at least try to every day. You can email me at amirastrang@gmail.com if you want to come by and see prickles

If she's looking for a breeder hedgehog she probably doesn't want it to be from a pet store. And even if the petstore gets their hogs from a local breeder they are more then likely not going to want to give out the breeder info and lose sales. Just my 2 cents....:)

I wouldn't buy from a petstore either, it was more to see a hedgie in person before taking the plunge and driving over an hour to buy one.

Why would she need to go to a pet shop to see a hedgehog in person? She already owns a male.

I must have missed that. oops....I saw the post about research and finding a vet and I assumed that she was new to the hedgie world
