Sonic fingernails are becoming kinda long and the are growing in kinda werid directions. What should I do?!? If I try and cut them, he bites me and Curtis! I'm trying to see if letting him run on our patio will help alittle. But one nail has me very concerned because its curling down. Do any of you have any ideas on how to clip his nails without him biting or balling up on us. Please help!

Well, with a ferret, you can put a distracting liquid on the belly and keep him/her occupied while you clip. :)
Otherwise, you can pay the vet a visit....

My trick is to stick Milo in a shallow sink of water so his belly and feet get wet. If his belly is wet he wont curl, so i just take him out, put him on the floor and wrestle with him till I can get a nail cut  Sometimes he'll let me get anywhere from one nail to a couple feet before he goes balistic enough for me to have to give up. If thats the case I just wait a couple hours and go at it again.... I also get my boyfriend to help hold him while I trim the nail and that usually works out in our favor also. Just keep in mind sometimes you just wont be able too trim it and just try again after the hedgie has calmed down.

Thanks! We put him in the tube with enough water to cover his feet. He loved it! After he played for a while I pick him up, and after a little moving I clipped all his nails. I was so glad it was that easy. So now I know how to do it. Thanks for your help.

try puting him in a bath tub with a inch or 2 of room temp water or try setting him on top of a cage or something similar that his feet can safely fall through and trim his nails when they do.
