I'm a horrible photographer. I'm having quite the time with this class. It's a major requirement and I've left it to my last semester to take. But the upside is I choose my subject for my final project and it's hedgehogs.

I'm trying to make comparisons between hedgehogs and their enviroments. So for example I had a photo of a hedgehog with a pineapple, a hedgehog with a koosh ball, etc etc. It's very silly.

But being a horrible photographer they aren't turning out super great.

I'll try and scan some of my photos to share tomorrow.

Any one have suggestions about environments I can put hedgies in? I was thinking cactus and fruit that are pokey for my next shoot but I'm open to suggestions.

a hairbrush.
one of those shoe-scraper things? that you put on yr doorstep and are often shaped like a hedgehog?
you probably don't have a mace lying around. :) (though it'd be awesome if you did. .. awesome or frightening.)
if you know any hardcore punks you can ask to borrow their jacket....

uh. more coffee.

So here's the project I'm turning in tomorrow. I didn't have nearly as time to work on this as I wanted AND I ruined a whole role of film by mistake.

"ruin" is such a relative term, esp. in the art world. i bet there are still things you could do with it, even if you don't think you can make prints from it.

i love the pineapple, and the third one especially. she looks like she's in a disco. :)

:) When I say ruin, I mean ruin. Not one negative developed correctly. Nothing on the entire roll was visible.

One of the frustrating things about non-digital photography.

I've been there. Sometimes you've got to check the developing equipment. Make sure the apron (the plastic/mylar sheet that spaces the film for development) is the right size and length. I once accidentally used one that was for a bigger size & too short--half the roll didn't come out because the chemicals couldn't touch the film, and it was quite awkward having my hands in the black bag and realizing I'd run out of apron. :/

Keep going. Only practice teaches you how to keep things from mixing, exposure, and all the other common mistakes new students make.

I like the idea that you used of comparing hedgies to things. I especially like the last pic. There is something mysterious about it..I don't know I just like it. You did good work....hope you get a good grade on it!
