I just got back from taking Milo to the vet where it was determined that the large lump on his side / back is a tumor. Four months ago he had a tumor removed from the same place, but no tests were taken because it had burst during removal. The vet said we could operate again and she would go deeper and wider in the removal, which could possibly kill him, but then again, so will the tumor.... and there is a 50 /50 chance it would return.

Right now Milo is still doing great, hes eating, drinking, running in his wheel...but he will be 3 yrs at the end of May and 3 is the age that they are known to get / die of cancer.

I asked for a day to think about it and Im torn between just letting him be and putting him down when he starts to suffer, and paying the 300.00 to do this for the second time for a 50% chance of it not returning....

Ick I hate decisions like this.....

My dad had a dog that had a tumor. He is 13 years old and he said he could not bear to put him to sleep. He paid the 1200 to have the surgery and he said if he died than at least he knew he did everything he could.
