http://i3.tinypic.com/vywsrb.jpg <<<< His puppy pad which he got his nail stuck in... you can see where he was so scared he pee'd at the far right

http://i3.tinypic.com/vyxdtk.jpg <<< this was his blanket... after he tore out his nail he pulled his blanket out of his box and huddled in the corner till his mommy came to the rescue!!

Glad to hear he is doing alright.

Be VERY careful with the kinds of things you use for liners- or stuff like this can happen. Puppy pads are not a good idea, nor is that faux fur fuzz stuff in the second picture.

Fabrics safe to use for liners include cordory, velux, fleece and cotton.

Poor little guy! Did he actually lose his toe, or was it just the nail? Because the nail will grow back. I did the same thing to Hemi a couple months ago. I accidently ripped her nail out while clipping (she moved suddenly, and I couldn't release the nail quickly enough). She didn't bleed nearly that much though...

Give him lots of cuddles!

Oh, poor Melvin... That's a lot of blood...

Judging from the 4th & 5th photos, it doesn't seem that his toe is missing, but I'm sure some flesh & skin were torn off with the mising toenail. You can imagine how it might be like if you think of us ripping out a whole fingernail or toenail, right? As Hemi's mom said, the toenail will grow back, but the injury sustained might take a while to heal.

Relieved to hear his bleeding stopped and he is doing OK now. Hope you can somehow protect the injured toe and keep the scab on until his wound closes up completely. A lots of tender love to Melvin.

it was just the nail thank god and i am being super protective to make sure the scab stays on and i think it is annoying him!! he knows i just want to help but he is being grumpy because he had some cotton blankets i took out just in case atleast for now!! he was not a happy camper!! but yeah he is doing great and the first day i had to go back to school(tuesday) i was so concerned i couldnt concentrate but after school i found out my grandma was taking peaks at him just to make sure he didnt start bleeding.........Thank you for the concerns i am just glad he is doing well!!!

Poor Melvin. The toenail will grow back. Usually the bleeding will stop if they remain still and calm although when it happens is usually in the middle of the night and we don't know its happened to be there to make them stay still and calm.

I'm not sure if this will work, but have you tried gently rubbing some vitamin E onto his hurt foot? It'll help heal the injury, soften the skin so the scab is less dry and less likely to rip off, and prevent too much scarring.
