Hello everyone,
It's finally less than a week until our pick-up date. Cassie, short for Cassiopeia, is going to be 9 weeks old on Thursday, and we'll be driving out to get her on Friday!
I'm so excited. It was very fortutitous, as my hubby Shawn and I did not expect to get a baby until at least fall.
In December Shawn took me to a pet store and there was a little hedgie curled up under one of those wooden arches. I asked the employee's at the pet store if I could hold him/her, and I was told that I couldn't. It's a shame for the petstore, since I would have bought him/her right then and there, but it was very good for me.
That day I came home and came online to find out more about hedgehogs, and I found this website, and that of Nancy's, and I soon decided that a hedgehog was the companion for me. Here I am today, announcing the arrival of my (our) little girl.
We have a big cage for her with toys and a hidey place, with a wheel and bedding to be brought home with Cassie. We have a vet lined up, a combination of foods as recommended by Nancy. The temperature in our home is kept between 24 and 26.5ish degree's celcius. We also got some blankies, hedgie hats and hedgie bags!
Early in the week I'm going to pick up a mail scale, and any other small items that I've yet to pick up.
Does anyone have any advice or tidbits of information they'd like to share? I'd love to hear it!
