I want to play more with my hedgie.. and give him the best life ever. How much playtime is decent and what do you guys do at playtimes?

I work this new job and it is long hours.. although I hear hedgies like the night.. so I am hoping for some playtime..

Ideas?

I usually let my two play for about two hours or until they decide to curl up & go to sleep.

I bought one of those marshalls ferret play pens so i dont have to watch them like a hawk when they are out. (although, they still need to be supervised.)

I got one of those ferret blankets with all kinds of fabri tubes sewen on it. They love to burrow in it. I also have a ton of cat toys (without catnip), little plastic balls with bells in them, dryer tubing, little huts, cardboard boxes, toilet paper rolls, plastic easter eggs, a box filled with non instand rice, a box of shredded paper, & so on.

They are spoiled if you cant tell haha. I could go on for a long time. Be creative on what you use for they playtimes & be sure to rotate them so they dont have all of them at once & then wont get bored with them.

Just make sure whatever you give they cannot choke on, get stuck in, get sick from smelling, licking, etc, & nothing with sharpe edges.

Mine also like when i get in the pen with them, they climb all over me & really seem to enjoy themselves. =]

Good luck & hope you all the best for play time!!!
