Hotaru's been doing really well, she's been eating and we've finally figured out how to get her to drink water on her own without us having to syringe it to her (she'll drink the water from a spoon rather than her bowl for some reason). But this morning when I went to check on her, I noticed that she was moving really slowly, shaking like none other and when I gave her a cricket, she chewed it VERY slowly and after a while, spat it back out at me. Usually I get bitten in the frenzy of her trying to get her cricket no matter what time of the day it is. Naturally, I got really scared, I thought something was seriously wrong with her. I let the exotics instructor know what was going on, but she had to wait until she was done giving out the exams she was doing to look at her. So while I was waiting, I wrapped her up in a towel with a hot pack in there, sat there and rubbed her for a while, noticed she was starting to get more active, so I syringed her some warm fluids by mouth and wrapped her up for a little while longer. After about an hour or so working with her, she was completely fine, I even got bitten twice as she attacked her cricket, i couldn't figure out why she had gotten so cold and tried to hibernate until I noticed that some intelligent person had left the vents open on her incubator so all the heat escaped and she got too cold! So I went through a panic, thinking I was going to lose her from something wrong that I didn't know about, when all it was was some stupid person who thought it would be a good idea to mess with the settings on the incubator! If I knew who did it, i would certainly give them a piece of my mind!
