Today for lack of a better thing to do, I decided to take Hemi's little thermometer and measure the difference in heights. Where her cage is now (roughly 14 inches) above the floor, it stays around 24 degrees. If I lift the thermometer up another 20 inches to the top of the shelf, the temperature jumps to around 27 degrees. Wow.

I think I may con my boyfriend into helping me move Hemi's big cage up to the top, as well as help me transport some new coroplast. I recently discovered that they sell CLEAR coroplast, and it excites me. That means even more light for my girl.

Hehe... and he thinks he's just coming for a visit... I think he owes me though. I took care of his darling new baby hedgehog for a week, and do you realize how hard it was to play with her everyday? It was almost too much to look at her little face and pet her...

I think he should let me keep her.

hehe, I didn't know about the clear coroplast either, but I think that's what he said he did little Vette's flooring with. He offered to bring me a sheet, but it wasn't big enough for her cage. LOL. But the clear coroplast will let her actually look out of her cage, since I have 6 inch sides on it (she climbs sometimes, and it helps discourage her).

As much as I'd love to keep the little girl, I'm glad she's going with him. He's been researching on and off, and asking me questions for months. Since he's a draftsman by trade, her cage should be some sort of palace. He actually asked me "Will 6.75 sq. ft be too small? Should I make it bigger?" Yeah, she's going to an amazing home.

And for sure. I'll even post new pictures.

Oh, when you're looking for coroplast, have you tried asking for "corrugated plastic"? That's what I had to ask for. It was in the siding section of Home Depot.

LOL, no problem. It's a wonderful cage invention, and everyone should be able to find it. LOL.

Clear coroplast lets in lots of light but you can't see through it, at least not the clear that is sold here. You can see shadows but that's it. :p

LOL, well then how in the world can they call it clear? One would think you'd be able to see through it... Well, at least it will let in lots of light. But then again, so will a C&C cage... ahah.

I just saw Hemi's website. I didn't know she was fighting bone cancer. I am so sorry to hear that. That is what took Frodo away from me. Best wishes to you and Hemi, I'll add her to my hedgie prayers tonight.
