Hi my name is Becky and I live in the Uk with my partner and our 6 chinchillas.
We never set out to keep chinchillas , they chose us !
We started out with Buffy and Drusilla, they were handed in to the zoo I used to work at and were taken on by my bosses daughter but she returned them 6 months later when she had got bored with them, we had them about 6 months before Drusilla died and Buffy got left on her own. We bought our next chin Nikita from "Petsathome" to keep Buffy company but soon found out that not only does Nikita not get on with Buffy but also that she is completely blind ( she is mosaic with browny red eyes ). We then bought our pair from people that did'nt have time to care for them, also they had never been out of their cage in 2 years, the female bred back several times in a row and the female Holly had sores on her feet ( these have cleared up with aloe vera cream). 1 month later the terrible twins arrived ! They will be 3 weeks old on Monday, the bigger baby "Brat" is a standard and the little runt baby noodle looks like a mosaic ( mum is mosaic and the dad is black velvet).
I am still on a learning curve and have read everything I can get my hands on as well as looking at every website.

Welcome!
I am from Ireland so we are not that far from each other! I know some good websites based in England if you need any supplies or toys for the furballs. Just give us a shout if you would like any information

:) Welcome! :) Sounds like you have a houseful! Can you say where you live? We live in Scotland for 8 years and traveled all over UK, including Ireland. We loved it there and were very sad to leave. We do go back to see friends and just to get a dose of the land we think of as home. :hearts:
Good luck with the furry gang.
Cheers, Sue and all the dorm pets!
