Well I'm definitely addicted to hedgies. I bought a baby girl 3 days ago. his is hedgehog #2. She was SO friendly when I got her. She didn't ball and was so cuddly. But since then she won't unball at all. she doesn't seem scared as she is not huffing or jumping. I thought maybe she is trying to hibernate. I have space heater set at 75F I also had her on one of those heated discs with a blanket over her. I've held her wrapped in blanket and she remains the same. I have seen her up to eat and drink. Now what?

Did she start a round of quilling? Some of the hoglets around here have phases of super sweet and cuddly then turn into sea urchins when they start to quill. Once through it though they go back to their 'normal' self.

She's just come into a new environment, so she is going to be a little shy. Give her "alone time" to settle in. Then just quietly place her in your lap while you watch TV. Talk to her, stroke her quills a little, but otherwise just leave her alone in your lap so she gets used to you. Put a tshirt or something you have worn in her cage with her so she gets used to your scent. Don't worry -- she will come around. You're just new to her in a new environment!
