Some hedgies won't go after live ones. Feed sparingly, the freeze-dried analysis says they have 15% fat--a lot more than mealworms, which would also be fed sparingly.

You could put your hedgie and the crickett in a tub with a lid and tiny air holes.

I feed freeze dried crickets to the hogs (well the ones who will eat them). I do have live crickets for my toads. I tossed a couple in the bathtub with a few hogs and they had no clue what to do with the live ones!

I feed my hedgies live crickets (only because I have crickets for my frogs). I just hold the cricket by a leg and the hedgies usually scarf them right up. I would like to try putting them in a tub though and watch them chase the crickets down, would be pretty entertaining.

My cousin rips the hind legs off of the crickets before he feeds them to his lizard, otherwise the lizard won't eat them. That might work for hedgehogs if they don't know what to do with a live one.

Hedgehog + bathtub + crickets = Cricket Massacre

and then you rinse the leftover guts down the drain...

Won't the crickets be able to jump out of the tub? I would hate to have one of those annoying little creatures loose in my house. They just love to taunt me.

Nope, crickets can't jump out of the bathtub. It's too slippery and they can't grip it. I've never had one escape.
