:O I took in a chin as a rescue and I had a vet visit scheduled...it had malcullusion(?)...so it needed a visit and i was having her checked for anything else possibly wrong. i was feeding her "pellet soup" and she seemed to be a little depressed all alone in her cage...so i would take her out. she perked up!! well last night when i went to get her to feed, she seemed to be acting funny. i got her towel and held her and she just looked funny. i was only holding her for a little while when she died in my arms.... :tantrum: I only had her for a short while and I grew attatched to her. She kind of smells funny too. So now iI worry that she didn't have more wrong with her and my other chins get sick!!! I guess it's off to the vet with her and see. I hope all is well with my others. she will be greatly missed!!!

RIP~ Sunshine

RIP.. am sorry you lost a chinnie.. i also hope you find out what truly happened through a necropsy so your other chin's won't suffer from it... sounds like there had to be more than just malo.. unless your chinnie suffered for a long time with it, (not eating) i don't see malo being the cause.. i could be wrong of course.. i am so sorry for your loss.. please keep us updated..

thanks to all....when i got her she was in pretty poor shape so i really didnt want to stress her. i had to wait for 5-6 days for her to enter out of her cage. i had an appointment for her and had to cancel today. now i'm being bad-mouthed by the former owner. i believe the lady i got her from was her owner and she just didnt want to pay for her. she was all dirty and such. i tried to clean her with diaper wipes...but she was a mess. i guess from what ever she was trying to eat. i believe it was just her teeth....they were getting long and not very yellow. so a calcium deficiency was possible. i just hope people dont think i'm a bad mommy!!! i love all my furries!! and my un-furries..lol. thanks to all

based on the two posts, this was beyond your control... i never for one second thought you were a bad mommy...
and the teeth description would definately point to lack of calcium/quality diet.. don't let the former owner make you feel bad or guilty.. guess the saying is true.. must put other's down, in order to feel better about oneself..
former owner knows what the chin did or didnt get, to bad mouth you, ( a rescuer) is unthinkable in my mind..
don't give this another thought!!~~~ you did what you knew to do, and your chinnie was blessed in the last days by being with you..
