Update on Cocoa

Hi Everyone. First of all I just want to thank everyone for all of the love, support, and advice that has been so graciously offered throughout our ordeal with Cocoa. Unfortunately, on Tuesday we made the decision to have him put to sleep. :O It was one of the hardest decisions we have had to make, but it was the right one. He had developed some sores on his belly and paws that we couldn't see due to him balling up everytime we wanted to comfort or feed him, and he was spending all of his time lying in the corner of his cage. I am glad that we have the option to help our little friends and prevent them from suffering. He passed on peacefully at 6:58 pm. We miss him terribly, although it gives us some comfort to know that we have his little one, Miracle, to remind us of him. Thank you again for all of your thoughts and well-wishes.

My heartfelt condolences to you on the loss of your beloved hedgie. I sensed in your post that you were at peace with the decision, probably because you knew in your heart it was time to let Cocoa go, and it's comforting to know that was how it happened.
