I have been reading through many of these posts about what foods are good for a hedgie's diet. I hadn't realized that Iams was as bad as it is, and therefore hadn't thought to change my hedgie's diets from that when I took them home. After thoughtful consideration and looking through long lists of diets all of you have mentioned I have come up with the following diet:

Wellness light
Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul Light
Royal Canin Slim 37

Is this considered to be a fairly balanced overall diet? Has anyone had problems with any of these foods? Please let me know your opinions of it, and any experiences (good or bad) you've had with any of them. Thanks!

Those three foods that you mentioned are the core foods in my hedgie mix. I like the ingredients, the fat and protein ratios and best of all my hogs like the mix too! I also have Felidae, Solid Gold and Innova Light in my mix.

I have been feeding Wellness Light along with Chicken Soup and Felidae with excellent results. No dry skin and no weight loss or gain. And the Hedgies love it! The shop we were getting Felidae from has discontinuted it, so we upped the ratio of Wellness and added a little of this new Purina ONE Natural. They seem to love it, or at least the slight change...and so far no problems. :)
