I still have a problem.

It tells me I have insufficient privledges, or whatnot- this happened after I was promoted to being able to make immediate posts; whether or not that has relevance, I dunno.

I've tried installing java, installing a couple different browsers, a different computer... I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Suggestions?

It doesnt have anything to do with you being a member. Chat is open to all members no matter what their status except banned. As you and I can plainly see, you are not banned

Some people can do it on Mozilla fire fox but not Internet Explorer, so you could try that. Sorry if that doesnt help.

I remember getting that message too but like I said I was able to get in with a different browser without a hitch and I didn't have my unmoderated status yet either so I know Tigger is right on that one - sorry that didn't fix the problem for you though. I was reading another thread and one of the mods on here (I think) said she can't get into chat either and has to use a different computer entirely. (I'm pretty sure I read that...forgive me if I got that wrong...sometimes I'm on here late  ). If you have access to a different computer you could try to get on, at least then you might be assured that it isn't a glitch in your account but a computer issue. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I've really exhausted myself explaining what to do about chat issues, via PM, email, and in this section. Every single thing you can do to make your chat work has been posted over and over again in this very section time and time again. Please, please do a search in the News & Questions section for "chat" and find what others have done to solve their problems and try those. There is no reason as far as the forum goes that anyone should not be able to get into the chat room. That is, unless you have been told by someone on the CnQ staff that you are not allowed to chat in the chatroom for some reason. We don't mind to help you if you have exhausted every effort available to you in order to solve the problem yourself. However in most of these cases, the solution is right in front of you and hasn't been looked for. Please use the search function....that's what it's there for.

I understand your frusteration, however I -have- used the search function, I -have- followed other threads with similar problems, I -have- used everything I have found that has been suggested.

Again:
I have downloaded java. It didn't work.
I have downloaded Mozilla and Netscape, and neither those two, or IE works.
I'm not banned.
I have tried two different computers; one connected to my house that did work previously, and on a different system entirely. Neither one are government/educationally based, and the firewalls are no more advanced than any other home computer.

I pride myself in being fairly self-sufficient. Unfortunately, methods suggested through the search function and other member problems have failed to work for me.

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

Until then, I'd appreciate not having my head bitten off, especially after already attempting the content of which I was berated.
