Hi my name is Becky, and my husband and I are planning to adopt 1, possibly 2 (if I ask nice enough) chinchillas in the next month or so. We are in our mid-twenties, no kids, he works full time, and I am a Grad-student. Neither one of us have owned chins before, however I grew up with many animals, cats, dogs, gunnie pigs, frogs, and a chicken! I think we are up for the challenge, responsibility, and best of all FUN! We welcome comments, cares, concerns, and look forward to a new community of friends and family at "Chins & Quills"!

Blessings!

I suggest reading all the FAQs posted here, as well as information regarding air conditioners and the like for chinchillas cannot take Southern California's heat.

Also, So Cal is a huge area, where are you located? As we can send you to the breeers/rescuers rather than a pet store.

Cheers,
Sandra (Ramona, CA)

Chins are the world's best pet -- no odor, doesn't bite, doesn't scratch, less possibility of allergies. And they are very friendly and intelligent. The rest of my household (7 other animals) loves the new additions and vice versa.

Good choice and you will get lots of support here.
