Take her to the vet. A runny nose could be a sign of an upper respiritory infection, which could turn into pneumonia, and be fatal to your hedgehog.

If you think she has a runny nose, get her to the vet ASAP. Antibiotics take a while to work and URI's can turn to pneumonia really quickly.

I agree the excess licking is the hedgie getting rid of the excess fluid running from the nose. The dry cracked nose is another cold symptom as well. It maybe a slight cold. Until you can get him or her to a vet bump the temp up a little and closely monitor eating and drinking, sometimes a hedgie will not eat what they cannot smell. Some colds pass with warm temps and good eating, but if food or water intake drops or the hedgie becomes less active the cold maybe a respiratory infection and a trip to the vet will be neccessary. Also listen to your hedgie breathe, it you hear a raspy or wheezy noise it is a respiratory problem and you need a vet asap. If it is more of a watery sniffling it is just a cold, that can be managed with warm temps and good food intake, but if symptoms worsen or your hedgie hehaviour changes significantly get to a vet asap.

Good Luck keep us posted!

Jennifer, about three weeks ago in chat you said she had a runny nose. We told you then that she needed to see a vet. You can't keep having all these problems and not get her in to see a vet. Six weeks ago when she was attempting to hibernate, you were told to get her in to see a vet. Two weeks ago when you went to your fathers and your mother let her try to hibernate you were again told to take her to a vet. It's abnormal for her to have a runny nose for this long and to continually try to hibernate. Something is wrong and you need to get it looked at. Internet opinions at this point are guesses based on incomplete information. A vet is the answer.

If she is licking her nose "alot" as you said in your first post, then she very likely does have a runny nose and is licking away the evidence.

Either way, like Hedgemom has said, this little girl has had alot of ongoing problems and she really does need to be seen by a vet.

Even if it was just a "water spot", she wouldn't be continuously licking her nose. She needs to see a vet soon.
