I was at Petsmart the other day picking up bedding when I noticed they have a light ebony Chin.

They had a plastic wheel (not very large), raw carrots, and a food bowl with who knows what in it.. Pet stores shouldn't be allowed to sell Chins..

ditto... but at least petsmart carries Mazuri. I work at Petco, we sell "Charlie Chinchilla" and Kaytee pellets for chins.. Its just wrong.

Since you work there is there anyone you could talk to so it could hopefully get changed? Someone somewhere must have an open mind towards the animals health and well being....Right?

Are you sure it wasn't a standard? I'm not doubting your ability to see, I've just never know them to sell anything but standards. Out of curiousity, how much were they charging?

I agree with you but its not the chinnie's fault that he's there. Hopefully someone who knows how to care for a chinnie will take him home. :)

Yeah.. I've seen a hetero beige before at Petsmart. But that was the only time, about 3-4 years ago. Just saw standards since then though.

Yep, I have. We don't sell them anymore. The GM realizes we dont have the environment to care for them, and business-wise, they realize its not a good profit (they don't sell well because the price is like 170).

We once had a black velvet... pretty but MEAN. lol. I tried taming it a little, but it bit me like 3 times... My manager ended up selling it for really cheap just to get it gone because they were putting so much money into caring for it, and I made them put it in the back of the store because it was a lot cooler back there.
