Hey! I'm a chinchilla owner, I have one, he is about a year old. He is very cute and sweet. Chinchillas are very smart animals. Dusty will know when we're in the room, he will go to the side of his cage that we are walking by, it's really cute. He loves to eat lettuce also! It's cute to watch him eat it.

welcome to the board..
you should really stop feeding dusty lettuce.. it's not good for them..
stick with pellets, hay, and good water... all they need..

Welcome! I also agree, lettuce isn't the best thing to feed your chin. However, they can eat cheerios, unsweetened shredded wheat, rosehips, and, of course, raisins. (It's cute to watch them eat anything!) I love how they hold their food to eat it, too. They are amazing little creatures.

Hello and welcome! I hope to see pictures of your Dusty soon! Please do stop giving lettuce to him though it can give him tummy problems.
