hey guys and gals. my names mattie and I live in northern Indiana. I am slave to 12 chins...and counting. we're getting one more at the end of the month, and one of our recent aquirings was preggers when we got her, so soon Ill be going through my first delivery. Hope you guys are ready, Im sure Ill be freaking out. We've already had to hand feed one of ours who was supposed to weaned but oh so obviously wasnt,so Im prepped for the worst, but still scared. So just a warning, be prepared, the questions will be flying at you Im sure. N-E-hoo, dont want to write too long a post, just sayin hi and thanks for bein here, chin owners need a place to convene, chat chin, and most of all share knowledge.lookin forward to hearin from all and helpin the few that I can,bye bye for now.

Hello! Oh no sounds like you have a situation on your hands! Did you know the female was pregnant when you got her? And a baby that wasn't weaned properly??? Geez, I hope you are not getting chinchillas from the same breeder who is sounding kind of irresponsible to me!!! :rolleyes:

thanks guys. Yes, I did know she was preggers and was very excited about it, and no, the un-weaned baby was from a guy Ive only dealt with once. thankfully, I only had to do it for a couple weeks. IT WAS DRIVEING ME CRAZY! but alls well that ends well, and Ive got a happy healthy furball to show for it. incredibly tame for her age too. :hearts: from what Ive seen, most youngsters are balls of energy that dont want to sit still. she just chills on my shoulder,or sometimes on my lap.I just stopped hand feeding a little over a week ago, so maybe she thinks if she sits still like a good girl the milk will come back? :dunno: anyhoo,thanks again for the warm welcome!!!
