Hello everyone, we've been reading the board and getting lots of useful information from it for a few weeks now so we decided to register and say hi and thanks!
First off we just had babies on the 9th of this month...you can see 3 of the 4 in the picture in our signature. The dad is on the left and the mom is on the right. Pretty amazing to have 4 babies her first time. But they are all healthy and active. Her babies were all born after 8:00 am so we got to see them being born.
Our female chinchilla's name is Chilly and the males name is Bret. We have homes for 3 of our babies (so we are letting them name them) and will be keeping the only female for ourselves and are waiting to get to know her personality before naming her.
We've built a pretty good chinchilla condo for the 2 original chins but we are now planning on expanding and are going to go for some more elaborate and bigger cages. We're also planning on getting a few more breeding pairs of chinchillas other than just standard. We've seen lots of pictures of beautiful chins and would like to branch out.
Like I said earlier we've been reading on the board for a few weeks and have gotten lots of useful information about the pregnancy and birth of our new family members. Couldn't tell you now whose advice we've read but a thanks to everyone!! :applause:
