Has anyone here bred two of their females to the same male during the same period of time? If so how did you handle it?
I was planning on breeding both Damsel and Milkshake to Capuchino. What I was thinking about doing was having Milkshake in with Capuchino first (she's a good mommy) and then Damsel in second. I want them to birth around the same time incase something comes up and I need to foster babies.
What would be the best schedule? Milkshake in for two days, Damsel in for two days, Milkshake in for three and then Damsel in for three? That's what I was thinking.
*and just to clarify at no point in time will both girls be in with the same male at the same time.

I have bred two females with the same male at the same time.... As in, all three in the cage together. Sometimes thsi works just fine. However, if one female plays hard to get, while the other is... um... more cooperative, the male may decide that the difficult female isn't worth his time or energy.

That's what I was afraid of it I put all of them in the same cage together, that and possible fighting. But I could give it a try.

I haven't had issues with fighting in the trios that I have put together, but there always is that risk any time that you put more than one hedgehog in a cage. Good luck!

I just did a round of two females with the same male. Vixen I can tell for sure is preggers however this is Lady's first litter and she's being a bit more shy about letting me check on her belly. Sorry I can't be of more help. Although when they were breeding it didn't seem like there were any fighting issues, so that was a plus.

Well, Capuchino is living every man's fantasy as I type. He's participating in a threesome  with two 'blondes' no less.

I have breeding cages which allows you to breed more females to one male. This also keeps your females safe from fighting, and your male always has somewhere to run as well. You don't have to worry about reintroducing everyone, and you can simply close off the females cages when they have kits. They are more expensive and hard to find but I think they are the safest way to breed.
