My Lucy seems to be warming up to me!

I gave her a bath last night-NOT her favorite activity. Afterwards, she had a nail trimming-probably ranks right up there with the bath as far as least favorite activities.

I warmed her up for awhile, but she just really wants to get away from me, so after about 15 minutes, I put her in her warmed up cage where she disappeared in her digging box.

I coaxed her out and gave her a mealie and she sucked it up and looked up at me when I told her what a good girl she was and then it happened---

She let me rub underneath her chin!!!

Usually whenever I try to touch around her head, she tucks her head down, but this time, she let me touch her chin!

Then later, I took her back out and she cuddled up to me and I touched her ears and her face! :hearts:

So sweet.

Of course, she got completely stressed out when I put her back in her cage and she realized that I changed her wheel and litter box. Not real happy with that situation. She kept running back and forth, making sure her hedgiebag and digging box were still the same, then looking at the wheel and looking at me like "What have you done??"

Oh that is so sweet!! I always crack up when Rosie runs around the cage after I clean it. You are right, they are totally checking to make sure nothing is missing. I had to take out Rosie's digging box yesterday so I could wash the fleece strips inside of it. She sat in the corner where is usually is and look up like "uhh mom I think your forgot something...yeah usually my box is right here...uh mom..mom MOM!!!!" I felt bad but I will be back today :) She had to survive with just a hedgie bag for one night. Well congrats on the snug fest!!!

:hyper: Wow! That is so cute! It's such a moment of accomplishment when a hedgie lets you pat him/her without so much as a huff!! And after a BATH and NAIL TRIMMING no less!!!!!!!! That's major!

 That's great. It must have been such a special moment for you. It shows how safe and happy Lucy feels with you.

I LOVE snuggling with Romeo. He just looks so cute and content when I pet his face or rub his legs + belly. What a spoiled little boy! :)

It's so funny when they run around in their cage making sure that everything is still in the right place. In the house, back out, through the tube over to the wheel, a quick peek in the digging box, over to the food and water dish and then, having made sure all is the way it is supposed to be, right under the fleece blanket and  ! LOL

She has since allowed my youngest daughter to rub under her chin. :applause:

I also noticed this morning that she wasn't quite herself, she hadn't pooped/peed all night! So, I took her out of her digging box and moved her hedgiebag out. She started popping, but as soon as I talked to her and put my hand by her nose, she stepped right up to me and rested her head on my hand.

I'm not sure what her problem was, I took her out of her cage and snuggled for awhile, let her run around the room for a bit, then put her back in the cage without her "hiding places". She then relieved herself over by her new litter box. That was probably the problem-the new litter box. So, I told her she was a good girl and put everything back in.
