I just joined last night. My name Is Heather and I live in Saskatchewan. I currently have no chins or hedgehogs, but in the past have cared for both types of critters, and probably will have the opportunity to care for more in the future. I do unofficial rescue of all exotics (large animal and small animal) as well as wild bird rehab.

For current permentant residents I have:

3 dogs, 1 cat, big Tank of Fish, 5 Ringnecked Doves, 2 Fischers Lovebirds, 2 Peachfaced Lovebirds, 5 Cockatiels, 1 Umbrella cockatoo,
1 Crow (unreleasable), 2 Zebra Finches, 26 bantam chickens - (silkies, Old English Red Piles, and Millie's) and a big bank of rehab cages that have only one unreleasable resident this spring ; a Brewers Blackbird awaiting vet approval for a wing job .... lol ... (I don't think it will be sucessful tho, and I think "Brew" will either become a permenant resident or be euthed, depending on what sort of quality of life this adult bird will have if he is unable to fly) .... A 20 y/o paint mare, a 5 y/o Warmblood mare, an 8 year old paint gelding, a 15 year old AngloArab X QH gelding, A goat, numerous gerbils, Mice and rats. The mice and rats are my livelihood, as I raise them on a rather large scale for the feeder market. We run a big, clean, *humane*, vet inspected operation and do not sell any live feeders. Most people online think that is a horrid thing to do, but its a necessary thing, as captive omnivores and carnivores need to eat what nature designed for them (or as close to as we can get) ... Snakes, raptors, ferrets, cats (raw diet), owls, and small carnivores in zoo settings are all customers of mine :dunno:

I recently had a change of direction in life (when I turned 25 ... lol) and decided to sell my petting zoo/Educational exotic animals ... Before March I had many different breeds of rabbits, pot bellied pigs, goats, Chins and Hedgehogs, ferrets, Guinea pigs, game birds, ducks, hammies, and have had loads of other critters come thru the front door looking for a new forever home! I work in the horse industry as a trainer at a large ranch, as well as participate in many many different horse sports with horses from work and horses of my own. I am also an artist, and am about 3 commissioned pieces behind, so maybe should be catching up on artwork rather than typing lenghty introductions!
