Hey all,
Thursday night, at the prodding of a friend, I took Ci Wei out in his pet carrier to meet my friend's mom. Of course, Ci Wei was his usual charming self once fully awake, and he definitely had energy to spare. It was so cute 'cause part of the time at their house I held him in his blankie, and part of the time he was in my hands, but the whole time his little nose was going full speed taking in all the new smells. Thankfully he didn't decide to anoint there, lol, but he did charm everyone present. And, of course, it gave me opportunity to perfect my hand-to-hand transfer technique for a "runner" hedgie (anyone with a runner knows what I mean!). :p
I did notice something strange. When I first placed Ci Wei in his carrier that night, he shook himself like a dog does when wet. Not long, mind you, but I'd never seen him do that. It wasn't the "popping" they do when scared, it was just a shaking of his quills. Is this normal? Is there a reason they do that? Hmm... in any case, he's sure a cutie. Oh, and I found out I will be able to keep him when I make the move this August to the new apartment in Michigan. I was hoping I could, and even though there is a no-pets policy where I'll be living, the manager said we could try it and just play it by ear. Yay! Of course, everyone falls in love with him at first sight, so hopefully all will be well. Anyhoo, I just wanted to post about Ci Wei's adventure, and also ask about the shaking the quills thing. Thanks, and I'll try to post more soon!
