I'm New Here! (Pics Too!)

I got my first hedgehog on Friday! His name is Slash McTruffles (Slash for the guitarist off of Guns N' Roses, and McTruffles cos it just sounds cute). He's no more than 12 weeks old (they get them when they're 8-10 weeks old) and he came from Petcetera. I know, pet stores aren't usually good, but our Petcetera is a good one. They work with the S.P.C.A to help get their cats and dog adopted and they have a vet's office right next door (a very good vet too!) So I'm sure I can trust them.


I'm not too sure about his colour name though. I was looking at the colour guide on the IHA site and it confused me a bit. I'm thinking he's "chocolate" but he could be "brown." I'm pretty sure he's not "grey" or "salt & pepper" because he's not that dark. But I'll put the picture up and you can decide for yourselves. Colour isn't important to me cos I'd love him if he were puke green with big red and orange stripes (now wouldn't that be something?...) :p


Anyways here's one pic! I wanted to get more but he was feeling a bit shy and grumpy so he spent most of his time running around and trying to burrow into the couch. It's not the best pic because he has a way of posing perfectly for the cutest pic and then moving 2 seconds later. :laugh:

Slash is quite the cutie. I love the name, as I use to love Guns-n-Roses.
I am not sure of his color...never good with that...but know he probably is not salt-n-pepper. They are sooo rare, most breeders wouldn't part with them if they had some.
Anyway...as said..he is a cutie no matter what color he is.

Congratulations on your new addition. Slash is quite the cutie. Daisy does that same "oh, look at me!" pose then moves the second you get ready to push the camera button too. I swear she just loves taunting me. Anyhow, he is very handsome whatever color he is.

Heheh thanks everyone! :hearts: Every animal I've met in the last year has been named "Slash." I even named my friend Jake's new born lamb Slash and the other one Duff. Slash seemed like a cool hog name (it kind of reminds me of that Pokemon that curls into a ball and spikes people "Sandslash" or whatever, hehe!)

Oh well, colour's not too important to me, I was just really curious since there's soooo many different colours and I wondered which one he could be. Maybe the vet will have some idea. :p

It was even harder to get a pic of him since I was using my cell phone and the camera on there can be kind of hard to use since it's dark at first and then lightens and you have to make sure he holds still (not gonna happen haha) and he'd be too busy trying to hide his face in my pant leg. :lol:

I found the pic on someone's Nex profile and I thought it would make a good signature since I'm sure that's how Slash imagines me right now! :lol: Except he doesn't run away he tries to hide in my clothes or burrow into my arm (which tickles alot).

Wow, turns out he is a she! :laugh: So I've re-named her Luna McTruffles!
