What do you do to your hair every day? Do you straighten it? Blow dry it? I know there are some products out there that are supposed to stop frizzing.... Also, you could get moisturizing shampoo+conditioner, that may help. Split ends, just go get it cut. To keep from getting split ends in the future you just need to keep up to date on trims. How short do you want your hair? If you straighten your hair, that could be drying it out a ton, esp. if you use the straightener on a really high heat. Touching your hair a lot also makes frizz worse.

I think the best bet for you would be to not use shampoo from like say, walmart.
Spend the extra money and get TRUE salon quality hair products. They make the world of a difference.
My hair is horrible. It's thick, natural wavy- so it's going to do what it wants. If I straighten it, the tiniest bit of humidty will send it back to being wavey. IF I curl it with a curling iron, 1hr later my curls fall out.. If I scrunch it, it goes flat.. LOL
The BEST thing i've found have been products that you'd buy from your hairdresser. My mom , both my aunts, and my one sister are all hair dressers. When I use quality shampoo/conditionar and products, my hair works A LOT better. Sometimes when I run out of the "good stuff" I'll buy something from walmart, and it's just not the same.

I have very thick, very long (to my behind), slightly wavy hair(which I straighten by blow drying). I feel your pain! I was actually just perusing new hair styles right before I happened upon this thread. I have to go against the suggestion to buy the more expensive shampoo's...I've used most of them, and found little to no difference between them and the commercial store shampoos. I wouldn't reccomend buying from the cheaper end of the spectrum, but there's no need to break the bank. I've used many shampoo's, but Thermasilk is the best one I've found so far. I've used it religiously for the past 2 years. I also reccomend buying Thermasilk spray in conditioner/detangler. It's light enough to where it won't leave your hair greasy as some products do, and intensive enough to lessen the snaggles. Spraying this in after you shower and before you comb out your hair, will help to keep your ends split free. I used to use a product called "super straight hair" but they stopped selling it around here...if you can find it, get it! It's wonderful for de-frizzing! Other than that, I would reccomend asking your hairstylist about the best ways to style and care for your hair, as he/she will know what is just right for you.
As a side note...if you have blonde hair, I would be extremely careful with super red (or any red) streaks. Red runs and bleeds!!! I know...I paid $200 to get my hair weaved with red and dark brown and it looked so awful because it ran, that I had to shell out another $150 the next day to have it repaired. If your hair is already light, perfecting red is going to be a difficult feat. I would say you should go with a light to medium brown. It will give you the pop you are going for, without turning you into Krusty the Clown (as I was!) lol I know this post is long, but I know how you feel about your hair...i'm just as concerned about mine!!!

Yeah I do agree with megan. A lot of your problem is that you need to find a good "quality" conditioner especially(not necessarily expensive, but deffinately good quality)...Make sure you're using conditioner. That's going to keep your hair from flying away, and make it soft.....Make sure you rinse out all your shampoo and conditioner, or it will make your hair greasy.....Also, to quick fix flyaways??...Rub a bounce sheet over your head.....just start at the top and work down to the bottom of your hair....don't just rub it, just run the sheet down your hair...it will quick fix flyaways, like if u have a flyaway and your getting your picture taken or something. lol. it works great!.....Babypower also quick fixes greasy looking hair. sprinkle some baby power over your hair and it will fix the greasy look...My hair used to look greasy by the end of the day even if I just took a shower that morning. It was never greasy, it just looked that way...It "shimmered" lol...Some girls like the hair that shines...one me? it looked greasy lol. The best thing I did was find a shampoo that is for GREASY hair....Try some VO5 hot oil treatments to make your hair manageable...They work so great and feel soooooo good! Tresemme is a good hair conditioner and shampoo....Also, Thermasilk, Garnier Nucrise(oh i love that stuff. It works GREAT)....Also Herbal Essence is a very good shampoo too that they sell at walmart. They have tons of different kinds. I use the kind for "Oily Hair" I think it's green, and it's like Kiwi or something...I buy the Fruit Essence, so it smells even yummier! lol. You should also try using a different brush. A lot of your frizz has to do with the brush you use I bet. Try using a boar's head hair brush. A rubber base with boar's head brissles. Try using a comb on your wet hair also...It will help with the frizz....They make a product called "Frizz Ease" That stuff works WONDERS to keep frizzy hair from flying away...Oh haha you asked about styles huh?? You dying and coloring your hair all the time isn't good for it either. You're just ruining it, but it's so hard to resist doing it when it looks so cute lol...You could try a "layered look"...Layers are super cute. I have layers right now...They need to be cut again...The top layer is usually about 4 or 5 inches long, and then they get a little longer....it's REALLY cute. Just tell your stylist you want layers, but in a "style"....Styled layers. lol. They're super cute :)......Good luck with your hair!

I have to agree here... My sister just did my hair not too long ago, We dyed it a reddish-brown (my hair is a dirty blond/light brown color) and put in some more blone highlights. We had a problem with keeping the red from bleeding, it wasn't tooo easy to do.
As far as the shampoo/Conditioner- I have found the "better quality" to be better for my hair, but of course-- it can simply be because hair dressers run in the family, and I listen to what they tell me about the shampoo/conditioners LOL.

lol Megan...we are all such girls about our hair aren't we? Personally, I usually get my hair streaked, but as I'm getting further along in my schooling, I find little time aka money to keep it up. I dyed my hair myself for the first time a month ago...and now its <gulp> going orange! I'm re-dying it darker tomorrow, so hopefully I can ex-nay this problem. I'm posting another thread for ya'll to help me with hair styles...please go see it ;-)

Dove shampoos and conditioners are inexpensive and work really well. Try walmart or target, usually around $3 each.
