Charlotte NC Area: Any Hedgie breeders?

Anyways, I live around Charlotte, NC and I am interested in purchasing a hedgehog (will be my first). I don't want to go to one of those pet superstores for obvious reasons so I was wondering if anyone knew any reputable breeders in this area.

Not entirely sure how close it is to Charlotte, but there's a breeder in Shelby, NC that I've been trying to get ahold of via email, but haven't got any responses yet. Maybe phones will work better. Anyhow, you may wanna check her out. http://hedgehogcentral.com/breeding/zippityzoo/

Just so you know, I'm in SC and have been looking myself, took a while but I finally was able to get one from a breeder in TN.

It's a bit of a trip, but the hedgie can be shipped to you. From what I understand from Shannon at Zippity Zoo in Shelby, NC, the USDA has been cracking down on unlicensed/expired license breeders in the southeast, which has basically resulted in her being the only licensed breeder in NC at the moment (and no litters at the moment, with a backlog that's fairly long, she guessed later this fall when she'd have some available). There are none in SC that I know of, and I finally got ahold of Donna (Glidermom) about a month ago, and she had 2 litters in the past two weeks. It is a bit of a drive to TN, but she will ship to CLT if you'd like to go that route. Good luck on your search. :D

I live in Salisbury, NC. I have a friends who is USDA licensed and has two males that will be available in about a week. I am also waiting on one from that litter.
