I joined a day or so ago but I didn't see this board until just now. Sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier.
I'm Vicki. Peanut (standard male) just joined our family 5 days ago. He was given to us by a friend that just left for Iraq. He's only about 3 months old or so and is so stinking funny. I could watch him for hours.
We will be getting a standard female next weekend. No intentions of breeding for money... just to be able to have a small chinni family. I wanted to get a female soon so they can get used to each other (even if they are in seperate cages) over the next 8 months or so. My husband had chins for about 6 years when he lived in Germany. So, eventhough I may be new at this, he isn't. My hubby is in Kuwait for the next 4-5 months (has been gone for 8). So I've done lots of reading and have asked a few questions on this site already (thanks to everyone for all your help).
I think we may stick with "nut" type names. Thinking of Hazelnut or Chestnut for the female (if she doens't already have a name). My hubby says the first born male will be Goober since goobers are chocolate covered peanuts.
