my poor little baby...I was playing with Jujubee late last night and i got him a bunch of toilet paper rolls to play with. He was so cute with them...then he found a paper towl roll which is either bigger or smaller in diameter than tp roll...anyway i thought he looked really cute so i went to go get the camera which was in the other room...when i came back he seemed to be struggling to get the thing off his head...so i took it off and when i got it off he was bright red almost purple! i became hysterical and started crying even though he was fine and was curious as to why i was upset and licked me as if to say "hey what's wrong?" needless to say no more with any sort of things that can get possibly stuck on his head...I feel so awful...he could have died. he's fine now and still tries to get the tp rolls...but i'm really nervous still about letting him play with them.

did you cut the tube lengthwise? if not, try that. it should help the little one not get dangerously stuck anymore.

that's a good idea...i just feel so stupid for leaving even if it was for like 29-30 seconds...

when i give my hogs tp rolls-- i always cut them length wise and round the edges-- its safer that way and there is no change of them getting stuck!

Poor baby! Mine have never gotten stuck before, they usually just chew on them. Maybe I should start cutting mine as well.

Wolfgang usually won't even look at a tube unless I cut it first. Maybe he's just safety-conscious.
It's too bad you had such a fright! I'm glad Jujubee is all right.

Awwww poor Jujubee. I always cut my tp tubes down the middle too. I am just paranoid I guess.

For tubes I go to a craft store (in my area its Michaels) and I buy 2mm thick crafters foam. I cut it up and hot glue it in a tube shape. A little bigger than a two finger width. It works wonders and never gets stuck on my hedgies noggins. I do this especially because my girls try to chew & eat the tp tubes and cardboard isnt good for anyones tummy. :)

I am sorry you had that scare! I would definately cut it like everyone has said. He will enjoy playing with it once you cut it!
